I have been associated with the discipline of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar since December 2010, as an Assistant Professor in Literary Studies. My research interests broadly cover the fields of South Asian literatureComparative literature, and Digital Humanities. For my research, I am primarily working on studying the intersections between narratives, cultures, and critical theories. I have been actively developing Digital Humanities and New Media studies at IIT Gandhinagar. I have extra academic interests in creative writing, writing for social media, and in the performative arts.

My elective courses include Tropes of Time and Topography: Select Fiction from South Asia; Theoretical Perspectives; Digital Culture and New Media; Critical journey through select thoughts and theories; Special topics on Introduction to Digital Humanities. I also take turns with other faculty colleagues in literary studies to teach core courses in Literature and Language studies for the undergraduate first year IIT Gandhinagar students. These courses are titled as “English Studies” (HS 101), and “Pleasures of English Studies” (HS 102). I have guided Independent study and HSS Projects (these are semester long courses) for undergraduate, post graduate students, and doctoral scholars. I coordinated the HSS discipline Independent seminars and projects from 2016 to 2018.

My doctoral students and postgraduate students are working in diverse areas of research that are classified broadly within the traditions of South Asian Narratives, Comparative Literature, and Digital Humanities. Their research interests cover diverse areas of advanced contemplation pertaining to cosmopolitanism, cultural texts, fictions from South Asia, narratives of folk cultures, Bakhtin studies, rural literature, carnivalesque, near future science fiction novels, social media studies, Internet studies, software studies, critical algorithm studies, and digital materiality.

I am inclined towards developing academic collaborations and fostering industrial partnerships for Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Gandhinagar.
